None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free

About This Quote

The great African-American abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison said, "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." In this quote, he was talking about the power of free will and how people seem to be free but really aren’t. If you do not own yourself then you cannot make a decision. If you do not make a decision, chances are you will repeat what you have done before over and over again. To be truly free is to make your own decisions and choices. Even if someone else tells you what to do, once you understand the consequences of your actions, you can make a decision that benefits you and your future.
